Rabbit Proof Fence by Doris Pilkington, July 12th at 7:00 PM

Three mixed-race girls are torn brutally from their Aboriginal mother and sent over a thousand miles away to a training camp for domestic workers as part of a government policy to integrate them into white society.  Linking the camp and their distant home territory is a vast rabbit-proof fence which stretches from one coast to another and just might help the girls find their way back.

Join us for a discussion of this book, loosely based on a true story concerning the author’s mother.  Dr. Gaye Gould will facilitate what promises to be a fascinating discussion.  Copies of the book are available at the library.

Oceans of Possibilities – Summer Reading Program

Summer Reading Program is Back!  July 20-August 20.  Join us July 20 at 4pm to kick off Summer Reading at the library, we will have presenters from Living Shores Aquarium here.
